I got my first marine tattoo when I got SCUBA certified. Each animal
(jellyfish, starfish, stingray, and me- the scuba diver) is something
that I saw on my first four dives. I am a Marine Bio major, and the
kelp/urchin tattoo represents my first individual research project that
I completed. I studied the population status of urchins vs. kelp in my
area. My favorite kelp by far is Macrocystis (Giant Kelp).

I got the tatto because it represents where I currently live and study (Vancouver) and the art
of the indiginous population, as well as my love of marine mammals, especially orcas!
